2001 Toyota Rav4
Since its conception in 1997 the Rav4 has found stiff competition with other
compact SUVs in the market, by comparison the Rav4 comes up short in interior
room, interior design and engine power. Toyota engineers have identified and addressed
these problems and redesigned the 2001 Rav4. The interior of the 2004 Rav4 shows
a more inspired dashboard design, spacious cabin, sleek interior design, enhanced
seating versatility and an improved cargo capacity. The new interior is much sportier
than the previous.
A bright metallic trim can be seen accenting the dash, wrapped around the shift
lever, and on the door grips. Various shades of interior plastic and dimpled vinyl
accents add pleasant visual diversity and revitalizing color. The interior of
the 2004 Rav4 offers more legroom than before, raised front seats allow more footroom
for rear passengers. The Rav4 is capable of seating a maximum of 5 passengers.
The Rav4's previous 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine has been substituted by an
all-new engine of the same dimension but with 17% more horsepower, 8% more torque,
and improved fuel economy and emissions. This latest 148 horsepower twin cam 16-valve
engine integrates Toyota's variable valve timing with intelligence (VVT-I), a
scheme that improves engine torque at all speeds while enhancing fuel burn up
and emission. Re-engineering the air intake system and introducing the two-way
exhaust control valve also achieved the raise in horsepower.
